WII Walk-in-interview 2018 - Project Fellow posts : The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging Project Fellow for the Project entitled “Human-wildlife conflict resolution mechanism in the Indian Himalayan Region: Risk assessment, Prediction, and Management through Research and Community engagement (NMHS-HWC Project)” purely on contractual basis for a period of one year. The EQ, DQ and other details of the Project Fellow is as provided below:

1. Positions & Emoluments 
Project Fellow: 02 (two) (on Contractual Basis – Rs. 16000 (JRF) OR Rs. 18000 (SRF) + 20% HRA)

2. Duration 
One year (extendable up to March 2019)

3 .Essential Qualification(s) (EQ) 
Post Graduate Degree in Wildlife Sciences/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Environmental Sciences or Management/ Life Sciences/ Biodiversity and Conservation/ with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. Candidates with two years field research experience will be considered for Senior Project Fellow (SPF). Age: up to 28 years for JPF and up to 32 years for SPF

4 .Desirable Qualification(s) (DQ) 
Experience /interest in: field data collection for mammals/people-wildlife interface issues; abundance estimation and analysis; behavioural studies; Remote sensing & GIS and working with communities to reduce conflicts

5 .Task Description 
The position involves action research on the problem of human-wildlife conflict to evolve feasible solutions in mitigating it in the IHR. The candidate is expected to carryout field research in close coordination with the State Forest /Wildlife Department officials and field staff, and local communities under the supervision of the WII faculty. Development of spatial database on human-wildlife conflicts and risk prediction using RS & GIS tools, Develop and implement mitigation measures for human-wildlife conflict with regard to the target species (Snow leopard, Common leopard, Himalayan brown bear, Asiatic black bear, Wild pig and Rhesus macaque) in remote high altitude sites in the Indian Himalayan region through community participation.

6. Age Limit 
Up to 28 years for JPF and up to 32 years for SPF. Age relaxation - The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as per Government of India rules.

9. Terms of Reference 
The fellowship tenure will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations

General Conditions 
1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 5 th February, 2018 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.

 2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications research experience, along with certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification.

3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
