National Institute of Fashion Technology Recruitment 2018 -  Short Term Appointment in INDIA size Project : ‘INDIA size' is an extensive research study undertaken by National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, to develop a comprehensive size chart for ready to wear industry. This is a scientific exercise where anthropometric data will be collected from a sample population in the target age group to create a database of measurements that will culminate in a standardized size chart truly representative of the Indian population.Data collection will be done through 3D whole body scanners which will be moved to various cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad,Kolkata and Shillong for data collection.

Team in INDIA size booth will have following members -
1. Anthropologist/ Ergonomist for taking some manual measurements for validation of scanned measurements, for ascertaining participant body size and issuing scan suit and checking scans for quality.
2. Scanner Operation Executive to overlook end-to-end process involved in scanning of the participants in different postures.

NIFT invites application for the position of Scanner Operation Executive and Anthropologist/ Ergonomist to run the scanners and take manual measurements respectively on short-term contract basis as per details given below for the INDIA size Project. The selected candidates would be required to move to various listed locations for data collection. Tentative duration of data collection in each location will be for 3-4 months. NIFT will bear the intercity train transportation to multiple locations by 2/3 Tier AC.

Initially 6 Months period extendable upon satisfactory performance till the end of the data collection . The appointment may not exceed in total of 2 years.

Eligibility Criteria and Job Responsibilities 

1. ANTHROPOLOGIST / ERGONOMIST

Minimum Education Qualification and experience

 Graduates in field of Anthropology/Biomechanics/ Ergonomics/Textile &Clothing/ Fashion Technology/ Garment Manufacturing Technology/ Apparel Manufacturing Technology/ Apparel Design/ Fashion Design OR equivalent from recognized university/ institute of repute Having1 year offield work/ research / job experience in the relevant area

OR

 Post Graduate in field of Anthropology with specialization in Biological Anthropology (Desirable knowledge: Physiological Anthropology/ Kinanthropometry/ Ergonomics) / Biomechanics / Ergonomics/ Textile &Clothing/ Fashion Technology/ Garment Manufacturing Technology/ Apparel Manufacturing Technology/ Apparel Design/ Fashion Design OR equivalent from recognized university/ institute of repute Responsibilities

 Assessing the participants’ size and giving right size of the scan suit to participant

 Taking weight of the participant and communicating accurately to the team

 Taking body measurements like girth and height discreetly using measuring tape and anthropometric kit for select participants and record the same with the scan number for easy corroboration

 Checking the scans for quality and guide the scanning process

 Storing all the body data confidentially

 Responsible for coordinating between all members in INDIA size booth and work successfully in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

 Good communication and customer service skills with the capacity to interact with diverse groups .To be able to communicate in English and Hindi language

 Is aware and suitably able to identify and manage public health and safety practices

 Must be self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, and excel in problem-solving skills and should have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

 Ability to deal with sensitive information with a high level of trust and confidentiality

2. SCANNER OPERATION EXECUTIVE 
Though training on specific scanner operation, data recording and analysis will be provided tentatively in month of March 2019 in Delhi but basic knowledge of running, working with and operating computer is essential.

Minimum Education Qualification– BE/ B.Tech / B.Sc. in Computer Science/ software / Information Technology/ Electrical & Electronics/Multimedia, BCA OR equivalent from recognized university/ institute of repute. Having 1 year experience and proficiency of working with and operating computers OR Applicants from other engineering fields with the proficiency in handling Graphic design/ multimedia software from recognized university/ institute of repute. Having 1 year experience and proficiency of working with and operating computers

OR

Graduate in Fashion Technology/ Garment Manufacturing Technology/ Apparel Manufacturing Technology/ Apparel Design/ Fashion Design/ Fashion communication(Desirable knowledge:CAD or graphic design/ multimedia software) OR equivalent from recognized university/ institute of repute Having 1 year experience in the relevant area

Responsibilities 
 Independently operating and handling of 3-D body scanners

 Patiently interacting with participants and guiding on postures of scan

 Capturing the scan data flawlessly

 Uploading of data on NIFT procured cloud

 Managing medium complexity software in case of crisis

 Recording, storing and retrieving data efficiently

 Checking scans for quality and correct body landmark identification under guidance of anthropologist/ ergonomist

 Ensuring effective and efficient retrieval of the body measurements from the scanned files

 Recording the scan number issued on consent form for seamless integration of socio demographic questionnaire with scan data

 Maintaining spare parts consumption, replacement and repair records

 Error solving and rectification in the system

 Performing reliability, accuracy and calibrations time to time as required following standard protocols

 Perform machine maintenance and updates

 Managing and maintaining the scan data server

 Responsible for coordinating between all members in INDIA size booth and work successfully in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

 Good communication and customer service skills with the capacity to interact with diverse groups .To be able to communicate in English and Hindi language 

 Must be self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, and excel in problem-solving skills and should have ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

 Ability to deal with sensitive information with a high level of trust and confidentiality

GENERAL INSTRUCTION

6. The prescribed qualification is the minimum and the mere possession and fulfilling the essential qualification of the same doesn’t entitle the applicants to be called for next round of selection.

7. The candidate will also be required to bring originals and one self attested copy of the educational and experience certificate for verification during the interview

8. The applicants shortlisted shall be informed via E-mails and through NIFT website. However, NIFT shall not be responsible for non-receipt of any communication on any account whatsoever.

9. The number of posts advertised is indicative and the NIFT reserves the right not to fill any post(s)and also the number of posts may be decreased or increased depending upon the actual requirement
